The latest refurbishment was carried out in 2001 when the
"Crow's Nest" spike bar was one of the additions, allowing a
relaxation of the dress rules so that players coming in off
the course could enjoy the clubhouse facilities without the
need to necessarily change their clothing or footwear. As
with so many courses both locally and throughout the UK the
course was designed by James Braid and while most of the holes
more or less use the same layout additional ground was
acquired in the 1930's on which the current 6th to 9th holes
are built, which stretched the length by some 600 yards to its
current length of 6,168 yards.
